Today I ran slow, hoping that I might have better results. I made 2.5 miles before the pain started and pushed through the pain for another half mile before shutting it down for the day.
At this point, I am convinced that without a long layoff, I am not going to wake up one morning and be able to put in 10+ miles in one outing, so I have resolved to hit the road every day in an effort to make as many miles as I can by the end of the run year. As such, I have added a new stat to track above('Miles required per day to meet goal') to keep track of what I am up against.
Running short distances every day should not be a problem from a rest perspective, as I will be completing (I hope) about the same number of miles per week, and right now, I do not need much recovery time after such short distances. I am already missing the medtative aspect of the longer runs, especially the Sunday trips of 10+ miles. Onward, one mile at a time.
