I know I have only been back at work for a little more than a week since the birth of our third son, but I am really looking forward to the long weekend. I am going to start a pork butt smoke this evening and then eat the butt along with some ribs tomorrow with Roberto and Barb and their three kids before heading downtown to see the fireworks. I may have simple tastes, but throw in a Notre Dame football game on TV (from the Lou Holtz era) and it would be close to a perfect day. If all that is not reason enough to look ahead, my mom gets in to town on Sunday and will have her first chance to meet the baby. In addition to being my mom and my boys' Nan, my mom bakes great pies.
